Trust me, you don't need eighty thousand square feet of gym space to get a solid workout. All you really need is a little area to call your own and a willingness to break a good sweat, as evidenced by a great -- but simple -- fitness move known as the Prisoner Squat.
To perform this leg-blasting and heart-pumping exercise, start by standing with your feet just slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Next, lace your fingers behind your head. From there, bend at the hips to lower your body down until your thighs are parallel with the floor. To finish the movement, thrust upward to bring yourself to the starting position. As for tempo, try to take two seconds to lower your body, hold for a full second, and then explode upward in one second.
Do these enough times and you'll start to wonder two things: 1) Do prisoners refer to this move as 'Me Squats', and 2) Why you shell out $50 bucks per month on a gym that you probably only use about 20 percent of.
